遊戲的核心遊戲玩法圍繞著玩家與專用鼓控制器的互動。玩家必須根據音樂和螢幕提示及時擊打太鼓，使用鼓擊和邊緣擊打等各種技巧，以及交替或組合左右擊打。玩家的擊鼓根據其計時準確度進行評分，分為「完美」、「良好」、「還好」、「未擊中」和「錯誤擊中」評級。在最佳時刻準確敲擊鼓會產生「完美」分數，而稍早或較晚的敲擊則分別記錄為「好」和「還可以」。未擊中和完全打失的被記為“Miss”和“WrongHits”。透過成功的擊打而不遺漏音符和擊打錯誤來建立連續的「組合」可以增加演奏者的總體分數，並且結果將顯示在音樂的結尾。

The core gameplay of the game revolves around the player interacting with specialized drum controllers. Players must hit the Taiko drum in time with the music and on-screen cues, using a variety of techniques like drum batter and rim hits, and alternating or combining left and right hits. The player's drum strikes are scored based on their timing accuracy, with "Perfect", "Good", "Ok", "Miss", and "WrongHits" ratings. Hitting the drum precisely at the best moment results in a "Perfect" score, while slightly early or late hits are registered as "Good" and "Ok" respectively. Missed hits and completely off-tempo strikes are scored as "Miss" and "WrongHits". Building up a continuous "combo" by executing successful hits without missing notes and hitting wrong can increase the player's overall score and the results will be displayed at the end of the music.
